Its History

We didn’t develop Susan’s Herbs’ 100-Day Protocol to tap into a market that may include millions of desperately ill men, women and children in every U.S. state and also around the world.

We don’t “chase illnesses” with products that “might” help someone. That’s not the way we do business.

Instead, we developed the formula after interviewing over 2,000 men and women between 2002 and 2006 - people who identified themselves as Lyme patients and then agreed to answer questions about what was helping them in their fight to feel good again.

And what we found was this:

In  clear and compelling majority of cases, people who were getting the best and quickest results were relying on ”supplement cocktails” of their own design, or those that had been recommended by other Lyme patients or by doctors both mainstream and complementary.

Not only that, many of the same herbs and supplements - 16 of them, in fact - kept cropping up in interviews over and over again.

From our point of view, that was a good sign.

It meant that not just one or 10 or 20 people were happy with the products - hundreds were.

And their assessments held up over a period of close to four years, another positive sign.

The fact is, here at Susan’s Herbs we like numbers - big numbers - when we consider what a particular herb or formulation might mean to and for our customers. A university study of 20 people has some value, of course, but it’s more likely to merely “pique our interest” than “make the case.”

Hundreds of people reporting real-world results and satisfaction, for us, has significantly greater value. These folks have nothing to sell, no bone to pick, no ax to grind, no special interest to preserve or protect.

All they care about is their health and the way they feel. 

And we respect that.

In this case, Cat’s Claw Guaranteed Potency Extract, or a similar product, Samento (TOA-Free Cat’s Claw),  were the first lines of support for a clear majority of people we interviewed. And we think that anyone who is battling Lyme is well advised to ask their doctor if this herb and others could be helpful for them.

Following as “adjuncts” - as “secondary herbs” - were Japanese Knotweed, Andrographis and Teasel Root, all of which are mentioned prominently in several books and articles on natural support for Lyme patients.

Wormwood - Artemisia - also was right up there, as were herbs to help with detoxification and cleansing. Among them: Milk Thistle and Sacred Bark.

Maitake Mushroom, an immune-support herb - and Quercetin, an antioxidant derived from onions and apples and also used in many anti-inflammatory formulations, were oft-mentioned, too.

Energizing aminos - including Taurine and L-Arginine - and the precursor to the antioxidant Glutathione - N-Acetyl Cysteine - were popular.

Ginger Root, another herb found in anti-inflammatory blends, and San Qi, the King of Ginsengs, turned up as well. Vitamin C has been used alone in major cleanses designed to attack bacteria head-on. It’s almost universally respected by Lyme patients.

After listening for almost four years, we formulated the 100-Day Protocol to put these herbs and supplements in one capsule.

By using concentrates and guaranteed potency extracts where necessary, we eliminated the need for 16 bottles of supplements, making dosing simple.

And over the past two years, the 100-Day Protocol has made true believers of individuals in the U.S., France, Spain, England, Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and India.

We believe this is true because the 100-Day Protocol was in a very real sense developed by people who knew what helps and what doesn’t. They were in the trenches, battling every day. They lived their condition - and they conquered it. Why a 100-Day Protocol? Simple: Most people found three months support to be sufficient. We added a kicker of 10 days as “insurance.”

Broad-spectrum antibiotics such as Doxycyline are advised in the treatment of Lyme disease.
